Hafez Awards announces doc noms

Annual ceremony of Hafez Awards in Iran announces nominations in documentary section.

According to a Friday media report, all documentaries with theatrical release status in last Persian calendar year were considered before the final selection.

Six films could gain the jury's approval in this section of the festival.

The lineup includes  'Friction' by Amir Farz-Elahi, 'Drums of War' by Vahid Hosseini, Mehdi Ganji's 'The Puzzles', 'Zero to Podium' by Sahar Mosayyebi.

The list goes on with Hassan Akhoundpour's 'Forgetfulness' and 'Minister-President' by Mohammad-Reza Hashemian.

Launched in 1997, Hafez Awards (Donya-ye Tasvir) ceremony is an annual event which is held to honor achievements in Iranian cinema.

The 18th edition of the gala is slated for August 13, 2018.
